New THT Build!

#1 Post by Bryson »

Weather is getting nice, so, it's THT time! I've been putting this one off, not sure why... but, I'm starting now... Got the sides cut and drawn out. Cut the access panel. This one's a bit different than the T24s I've made so far. That's all I've achieved so far this weekend. I'll keep this one updated! Thanks guys!

Oh yes! I'm ready. I got rid of all my previous subs... nothing too spectacular but I've had a klipsch and dayton. This one should be sweet!

Clamps . . always more clamps . . . I've wondered if it's even possible to have too many clamps.

Well, didn't get too far today. I was busy and tired. But I did get the baffle drilled and the T-Nuts installed. That step is very important, so it was worth taking my time today.

Here is another shot of the spacer and the PL doing it's job. And if you look close, you'll see a clamp!

Here are the little spacers I made to keep the T-Nuts sucked down... Before this, I test fit the driver. No issues. Looks great.

This panel should go in tomorrow night. Thanks!

Well, after looking at the pictures, and reading the plans again, I've made a mistake. I placed the driver cutout 9.5 inches from the wrong end of the panel. So it's closer to panel 1 than it should be. Is this going to change anything, sonically? Should I re-do this panel? It would be an easy fix to flip the panel over, but I cut the 5 degree edge already.

Bill? Any input would be appreciated!

After some thinking, I can make the other edge 5 degrees as well and flip it over. should meet up ok with the other end. I'll give that a shot. I still wonder though on the effects of moving that driver over.

There's no problem so long as the driver still fits into the chamber.

Thanks Bill! I appreciate the reply. I'll test if the driver fits, if not I'll flip it and it should work.
