I use 2 jack 10 + a TAT for my bass rig. It may be a strange setup, but I did it on purpose:
- I need something modular
- Enough power to cover small gig
- able to handle the growling thunder of a BEADG or F#BEAD bass !
Modularity:
The key here is the amp, it have a switchable low pass active filter. So I can have 150 / 300 watts full range or 300 watts with sub ON.
It enable me to play home with just one Jack for practice (fullrange 150watts), then take it back with the amp where we play altogether to have the full stack of Jacks & TAT ready for rumble ! It's a money saver as I don't need something else to play at home.
sound:
Just for comparison, I was playing a 250 watts Marshall cab with a 15" driver before. The new rig work so much better !
Before I was spending so much time trying to find the good setup to avoid the 15" reaching his limit, the rest of the band ended every time looking for me like " Hey I can't hear you !" No joking I was obliged to reduce low frequencies to take easy on the driver !!
After a looooong tone test of all the drivers I Installed my new rig in the studio where we play and decided to go big:
after all it was time to hear if it actually work.
So I plugged my 5 strings in the amp, turn everything at max, and slap the hell out of the B string.... Oh boy I gain some respect here !

The drummer & guitarist were literally blown away !!

The sound is clear, powerful & earthshaking !!! I really love when I feel the vibrations of my bass. That's why I wanted a sub, I want to feel the bass ! But most important now, the rest of the band can feel it as well.
What's funny is that the guys told me to turn down the volume. We spend a couple of hours playing some of our tracks, and it just sounded right. what a relief !
There is not so much to say but:
It's so cool when you can tune your sound the way you want, not the way you have to because of a bad cab.
