Weatherproof Otop 15 Build . . . finally
Re: Weatherproof Otop 15 Build . . . finally
On the first page he said 8 sheets of the PVC weighed 220 pounds, so 15 pounds a sheet. I'm going to guess that each completed cab will be in the neighborhood of 70 pounds. My OTop 12's (made from 1/2" BB) with Delta Pros weigh 52 pounds each. Good thing these cabs will be moved once and that's it!

You got half of it right!miked wrote:On the first page he said 8 sheets of the PVC weighed 220 pounds, so 15 pounds a sheet.

Don't know what they eventually will weigh, but they are heavy . . NOT something for portable use. These will be moved one time to their final resting position so weight is not a concern in this instance . . longevity in the great outdoors is!iamlowsound wrote:Looks good! How heavy is the box?

I have no idea how I screwed up that math. Actually, I do. I suck at math.
So I guess the simple answer to "How heavy are those cabs?" is "Very."

Man, you must be way in west TN. It's 1 degree over here. You're welcome to come over and use my shop- my mini split system is keeping it nice and toasty.Hackomatic wrote:Based on the current forecast of a high of 8 on Monday, it could be awhile!
BTW, I've used that cd/horn combo many times before in non-BFM cabs and think they work well.

30 miles northeast of Jackson . . . We busted the predicted high of 8 and made it all the way up to 10! Currently, 4. Thanks for the shop offer,Rick Lee wrote:Man, you must be way in west TN. Glad to hear about the 202's and lenses. I've always had good success with Selenium CDs and hope that will continue under the Harman umbrella.
