1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
wait... why do you need a driverack when you have xti2002s? Limiter is much more intuitive on the XTI (peak voltage setting, adjustable attach and release).
Built:
2x Tuba 30s delta12lf loaded (gone)

2x AT (1 mcm, 1 gto 804)
2x SLA Pro (dayton pa6, 6 goldwood piezo loaded)
1x bastard XF208
2x OT212 (delta pro 450a loaded, eminence psd)

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
I didn't think the XTI gave me the option of a highpass filter in conjunction with the crossover. The Driverack will be required later anyways. Also I've only found how to limit the xti in db increments not voltage. Any hints here?

EQ, gain adjustment, feedback suppression, and most importantly.....not having to stand on your head to make a change to the sub amp which is always in the bottom of the rack.

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

Measure the voltage at the binding posts (with a digital multi meter) as you change the dB setting in the limiter, until you get the correct voltage.
Initially, you have to measure to know what maximum voltage is anyway, so just leave the multi meter in place and adjust the limiter.
Yell out when you're up to that stage...

It's up and running. Very impressed with the sub's sound. Not impressed with my room's response to it. I've tried corner loading it, wall loading it, pointing it straight out into the middle. I'm sure the second sub will even it out. The room is funny shaped. Like a rectangle with one side cut at an angle. There are actually 5 corners. I'm thinking a better place for it could be corner loading it in the smallest corner. I don't have a long enough cable to go over there just yet, but I'll continue messing around with it.

By "it" do you mean you've completed one?
Don't get to fussed about positioning until the second is completed.
You've already learnt you have room modes/nodes....

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Yes, one is completed. Sub number 2 is all cut out and ready for assembly. I'm not going to have much assistance on the second one, so I hope I've learned well through the process of building the first one.

the limiter on the xti 2002 is adjustable by volts AND Dbfs. meaning you can just dial in voltage limit, no voltmeter required.Grant Bunter wrote:Sure:nouvo1 wrote: Also I've only found how to limit the xti in db increments not voltage. Any hints here?

Cool, tell old mate how to limit by voltage then pleasesine143 wrote:

Yeah I haven't found a voltage limiting function yet. doesn't mean it doesn't have it, just that I can't find it.
