TT Cabinet

For those of you who built a Table Tuba with extended outer panels to "disguise" the horn as a functional cabinet, how did you slip in the final side panel whilst not getting PL glue everywhere?

Unfortunately, where they are going, the upright version is the best choice, so I figured I may as well give them some functionality as suggested in the plans.

If your plans are the same of mine, you probably see the example pics near the end. In one of the pics, the box is shown partially constructed with the extended panels and the final panel of the horn left uninstalled.

I haven't started yet and foresee installing that panel as somewhat "messy", not unlike installing a brace which needs to "slide" in. I thought I'd find out what other builders have done to minimize contact with the cement while ensuring a good seal when the panel is finally placed.

I do like your design though.

Been a long time ago. I think I slid it down vertically while springing the sides just a bit with an expanding clamp.

If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

I also went the 1/4" ply route. Nice looking build you have there!

Figured spreading the panels was about the only way.

I like the idea of the spreading clamps against a caul to press the final panel. No screw or nail holes.

Thanks! :D

Well it looks great. Do you have any more pictures or a build thread? I've been thinking about building a new coffee table. :)

When I mount my project screen again, I was considering mounting away from the wall so the left, right and centre could sit behind the screen. I'm not sure what effect this would have on audio quality.

From what I have read on AVS, the Moleskin Spandex slightly dulls the highs.
