Hello,

I'm exited things are looking good: The Speakers are broken, Horns and boxes have been assembled, I will start working on the melded arrays today.

My question now is, what are the steps to paint the melded array, what kind of paint should I use, should it be primed?

There's no specified method. I used Kobra (street art) spray paint, without a primer. 1 coat. Rustoleum spray paints are also fine I believe. Just make sure it says it will stick to plastic. I inserted card discs (with a slit, so it makes a cone shape) at the front over the phase plug part and left the backs/drivers on. Tape something on the back to stop overspray from peppering the back side. Wear a rubber glove. I tested a sample sprayed one, a week or so later, for hardness - it was acceptable, though the paint would mark with a finger nail, trying to mark it. Don't do this on the finished arrays.

Hello,

I just realized that I kinda went PL happy on a few spots on my cabs and it ended up looking kinda messy Is PL sandable, any ideas?

The good news is that I am happy with the way the cabs look for my first build, my confidence has been boosted, I cant wait to get these done hopefully this week and start saiving some money for my next build. I will try to get some pictures loaded today, been kinda busy building

Use a good wood chisel to take it off, carefully. Then sand. That's how I do it and unless it is fully cured it's not too hard.

+1 for the wood chisel method. You may have to "cut the PL" from both angles (vertical and horizontal) in order for it to come off as one clean strip vs. a thousand little pieces, but it will come off nicely w/a chisel.

....and after chiseling and sanding, give the PL spots a quick coat of black ( if that's your colour) from a spray can. This will help the Duratex bond better

I will, I still don’t have Duratex and I was planning on using them tomorrow so I might just spray paint them all black for now, do you think that would be ok?

Couple more questions,

On the piezo wiring what is your preference and why, Parallel or Parallel/Series?

Once I have all the wiring done how much power am I safe to run both of the W10?

All black will be fine, duratex looks better though.

I parallel wired my piezo's in my WH8's initially, but quickly changed that series parallel. Parallel was to much tsss tssss for me.
You should try parallel first.

In my plans it says in the second paragraph, something like, the beta 10 will reach xmax at 80W and 100hz...

Quick question, can the crossover board be placed anywhere inside the cab or is there a preferred area?

Try to keep it away from the driver's magnet if possible and don't block the portholes. Other than that, doesn't really matter.

what if its in the side wall directlly accross from the porthole, would this cause any kinf of issue?

It should not cause any probs if it's not blocking any ports and not right on top of the magnet. Have you looked for WH build threads and looked where others have put it?

In my OTops, I have the HF crossover on the floor of the cab and the mid xover on the right wall, about an inch under the porthole. No issues that I can hear.

I curently have a board of 6 by 10 inch I was going to place it on one side but im thinking of cuting it in half and then put on board on each side instead.
