You mean 4 x T36s what 30" wide to match how many of what model of T60?jcmbowman wrote:I did some pretty extensive comparison of the T36 vs. the T60 when it fist came out. The T60 is easier to move around, but it has a smaller horn mouth. The T36 can also be V-plated easily. Need quite a few T36s to smooth it.
No more!
The chart for the dual T60 is awesome. Extension and sensitivity.![]()
An amazing achievement when we are always talking about trade offs.
Again, Mr FitzmauriceTHANK YOU.

Here's as close of a comparison as I could manage. I'm using 30" wide T36s, so that dip is not as pronounced. Also, the roughness and the dip smooth out considerably once you start stacking them together, especially when you V-plate.
As a nice bonus, I get a really nice bump at 70hz, which is right where I usually add one anyway.
And I was incorrect above - the pack space is not comparable:
T60 @ 27" wide = 60" x 30" x 27" = 28.125 cubic feet
vs.
T36 @ 25" wide = 36" x 36" x 25" = 18.75 cubic feet
(And for reference, my T36s: T36 @ 30" wide = 36" x 36" x 30" = 22.5 cubic feet)

We are in agreement. It takes at least two, possibly four 30" 3015LF T36s to smooth the dip 30-70Hz. Gonna happen anyway in any correctly set up rig as you point out. That was what I meant. Not to denigrate T36s but suggest why they were made obsolete. The chart for a single 2Lab12 T60 tells us why. Nothing to do with practicalities even, just the scientific and engineering achievement is astounding.

Re: Wanted: T60 impressions and reviews
The packspace issue is why I feel the big t60s are better dualloaded. I'll be building my next ones as slims.
When I tried my dual vs a pair of t48 there was a noticabley higher output with test tones up to about 50hz. This was a straight swapping of a speakon cable so the lower impedence of the lab12s will have somethin to do with that, but i was still surprised and happy. I still need to try the test again with spl meter and voltmeter.

Re: Wanted: T60 impressions and reviews
Hi friend, sorry, your T36 stacked few Hz you got?
I'm in a similar situation to yours, in my case I have 20 speakers of which 6 I have them in 48 and the other waiting for more, but my T48 not produce the feeling I want and if I'm seeing the T36, to replace my T48.
As for the T60, I've read wonders of such boxes, but I can not afford to waste 20 Eminence Kappa Lite 3015LF, in such a way that does not mind carrying the 20 T36, provided that minimum down to 30Hz or stacked 35 Hz

4 dr280 from 100hz up
2 dr250 on the top tipped up to hit the balcony. 100hz up
The t60 is another level. I love it. I am definitely making more. It just has an effortless authority and sounds more solid than any number of t48. It has a mouth 'blast zone' and tactile feel that I can't really reach with the t48.
If you can pack them- and that's a big if, coz they are undeniably huge, then I would recommend them. I am dyingnto hear a stack of 4 duals or equivalent. I'll be making slims for my next pair tho.then maybe another dual, just for the symmetry.
