I decided that it would be convenient to keep the tops and their bases together. They fit so nicely in the case I just had to.

Four OTops safely packed away




Threw a moving blanket over the tops and laid the platforms on top


The case rolls very nicely. For grins, I lifted one end of the case. The rivets didn't creak and the side of the case did not flex but the handles themselves did flex a little bit. I know for a fact that my OTops weigh 52 pounds each and the platforms weigh 20 pounds each. That's 248 pounds right there. The case and the caster board have to weigh approximately 120 pounds...heck, there's 8 pounds of rivets in there alone. It's one_heavy_mutha. This case isn't getting lifted, except by a forklift, anytime soon. As in never. LOL! Glad I built a sturdy casterboard with good wheels (rated for 275 pounds each.)

So that's it...the end of the OTop saga for me. It's been a great ride! Thanks for looking and all the positive encouragement along the way. NOW, begins the Transition to Titans!

These work great for cables and other misc stuff. They stack great and you can carry three at a time with a folding handcart.

I just went and looked at this. Noticed in the reviews that they have changed and are no longer as sturdy as they were. That sucks, cuz I like the idea better than the rubbermaid style containers I use now.

I used to use a clear Rubbermaid tub for mic cables on the stage, but the plastic quickly turns brittle and self destructs. Probably from UV exposure outside

I have used containers like the ones shown for a few years. I have 4 like the ones Home Depot used to sell. They have held up fine, but I have others like Northern Tool sells. These are still available and if you have then shipped to a nearby store, shipping is free.

I just ordered a couple of the 9.5 gallon bins to hold power cords in one and DIs & 1/4" cables in the other.

I love my system, but it took me years to settle on using the storage bins with ATTACHED lids. The boxes stack well (interlock) on my cart or hand truck and I usually line them up across the back or the front of the stage, open all the lids and grab and go. With everything PRE-sorted, such as 30 ft. mic cables, 50 ft. mic cables, speakon cables, sub-snakes . . . and one box holds the stuff I use at my mixer such as a little fan, gooseneck lamps, headphones, board tape, gaff tape, sharpies, BATTERIES for the forgetful guitar players ---- it's all at my finger tips.

The real challenge comes at break down time --- getting it back in the correct bin --- especially if you have volunteers trying to help. I always carry a RED (Christmas) bin that is empty --- until I throw all the little things I don't get where it goes --- then it's easy to sort the red bin back to it correct place. The red bin also works well for volunteers as I then take their "help" and put it where it belongs right before load out.

At the bottom of the page other similar bins are shown. Quantum is the brand, I believe. The Quantum version's plastic is a little more flexable, meaning durable than the ones from Home Depot.

Thanks, Bob! I bought everything except the wood, rivets and silicone (for sealing the corners and headless rivets) from DIYROADCASE.COM. I have a link in one of the first posts in this thread. Tbey sell ABS in 4x8 sheets...many diff colors too. I am happy with the products and service I received from them. Definitely recommended.
