What Neutrik Speakon Connectors do you use??

#1 Post by But it Hertz »

I just received a load of these Neutrik NL4MP-ST Speakon Connectors but they leak so much air you can literally breath through them!!!

WTF are they thinking? :chainsaw:

The design is such that you couldn't really seal them after wiring.... unless you went crazy... but then you couldn't easily change it out later.

There are holes *everywhere* Ridiculous!

Anyway, are there any air tight alternatives? What are people using out there? PE URL's appreciated please!

Cheers.

Neutrik NL4MP Speakon Connector 4 Pole Panel Mount
Solder or crimp connectors rather than screw connectors, but it's air tight.

Either that or build a small box around the connectors on the inside.
In build order:
O12 with no tweeter.
3 x WedgeHorns.
2 x Jack 10 without tweeters.
2 x DR250.
2 x 16" T39
1 x Tuba 24
2 x SLA Pro (sort of...)

WTF were you thinking?

You bought the panel-mount style...which is supposed to be mounted in equipment racks & wall plates using knock outs where being air-tight isn't an issue. :slap:

+2 if you're using metal terminal cups.

Otherwise return 'em and get this style which is intended for mounting directly to a wooden cabinet:

Try silicone sealing tape. It's removable with some effort.
