Request for help with mixer repair

#1 Post by ntblade »

Bought a S/H Allen & Heath powered mixer ( see this - http://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewt ... 28&t=18780 ) off ebay which turns out to have a lot of problems. The seller has said that he'll refund me at the end of the month although I'm not holding my breath!

Anyway, since I have a couple of weeks to wait I may as well try to find some time to see if I can repair it. Does anyone know where I can get a schematic / service manual?

It's a PA12-CP 1000W mixer.

Many thanks

Tell us what the problems are!

Google is my friend.
http://www.allen-heath.com/UK/Products/ ... bset-tab-4
Page 33 of the user manual gives a block diagram. Or the block diagram is a seperate download.

This may be a service manual:

Hope that helps...

WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Wow, thanks! How did I miss that?
That's the mixer alright, looks like a full schematic in the service manual from first glance.

The mixer has many faults although sometimes these can be traced to a few. I'll really need to get a proper diagnosis.

Will do. Need to gather some equipment. Have a working 'scope and will grab a PSU from the bay. Should be enough to get going.

Boat anchor! Almost. :cussing:

I'm trying to get a refund. Apart from not working, the carry handle is missing (not shown in photo) and the rack ears I was told were with it aren't.

I'm not holding out much hope of getting my money back so this might be a project for the winter.

The PSU I'm referring to is a bench type to power the mixer when being repaired as I'll have to remove the channel modules to check them individually.
