Re: Instrument Mics

I ended up doing a local search for the GLS Audio ES-57. Found one only at just less in price than another knockoff brand I'm more familiar with.
However, did find "genuine" in Box SM-57's in China from around $20US/each

A bit of a search there shows most of the Shure's and an e835s
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Beware the Chinese Shure knockoffs. On ebay or elsewhere.

I hear ya Benj,

No doubt. But if you do some searching, the Shure copies being marketed as the real thing are made as complete ripoffs. They don't work hardly at all, in my understanding. They are solely made to rip people off instead of a cheaper product standing on its own merits, whatever they might be.

I must say I only researched it to a certain extent and there may be more information out there. YMMV

e835's are a great mic for the price and the market isn't filled with knockoffs of 'em.
