I used about half a gallon for 2 Omni 10's and 2/3 a gallon for 2 Tuba24. I'm thinking rolling isn't as cost effective as spraying in the long run.

Rolling is a lot more cost effective, as chances are you'll use less of it. Spraying is so easy to do that you have a tendancy to just keep on adding more, whereas rolling is enough of a pain that after two coats the impulse is to pronounce 'good enough' and be done with it.

:D

Did mine over the weekend.....

2 Dr 290's and 2DR280's have been done with three coats using a roller from a 5kg tub of my UK duratex alternative (I also did a monitor using the same tub)

Finish is great, cost is pretty low (approx £16 for a 5kg tub). It becomes stronger over the first two weeks, and then its fairly scratch proof.
This is the DR290's I did last year:- http://www.frappr.com/?a=viewphoto&id=1 ... myphotos=1

Only need to leave about 1 hour in between coats.

Looks good...and looks like Duratex. If that bucket is close to a gallon (US), then it's also a pretty good deal. About $20 cheaper than Duratex. Have we just found the one thing cheaper in the UK than the US? ;-)

Turns out it's cheaper than I thought... more like half the cost of Duratex since a "5 lbs tub" turns out to be 4.7 liters... or about 5 US quarts. They don't have a US distributor yet, but they are looking... If they can keep the price in that range it should be really competitive. I like my duratex, but that Aldcroft C33-27 looks pretty darned good--from the pics, I'd never have known it wasn't duratex. Also, I don't seem to be as frugal with mine as most of you guys. I am not much of a painter, so I seem to waste a lot... I'd feel better about that at half the cost ;-)
