DR250 Build

Apologies accepted. All is cool.

For my own peace of mind I ordered my own set of plans. I see what you mean about the older version of the DR 250.

And so, the build goes on. I got a few jobs. I'm a painting contractor and have three houses to paint. So, the DR build is going to slow down a bit but, I'll keep posting the build as I go.

Here's what I have so far.

In the second photo do you see the mistake I made. That's what happens when I take break for a few days and don't take of notes as to where I am in the build

What do you guys use to tidy up the front of the tweeter array. I used wax paper on the jig to keep any glue seepage from sticking.

First off,I'm sure I'm one of the more than handful that appreciate you sharing your excellent builds.

Tweeter array: I use abs between the tweets to set it up, then glop it on the backside. I believe the DR needs to be sealed, so this should work well there. On the front side, I take a cabinet scraper and lightly go to town. Yes, it'll take off the textured surface, but if it's even, no one will notice. Or just hit a quick flat black spray paint, then it'll be good, from far.

Aaron, I used abs cement on this array and it is a lot stronger that the arrays for my J12L's. Model airplane glue just won't cut it as far as strength. A scrapper is what I used on the J12L's and they came out looking pretty good. I just thought that there was something else I could do.

As far as leaks I have checked with a bright light behind them three times and keep finding pin holes, I'll keep doing it until I don't find any.

Saturday night and time to relax and watch a movie (Predator) our soon to be daughter in law hasn't seen it yet.

Here's where I am now.

If you haven't guessed what my mistake was; I forgot to pre drill the holes for the bolts to mount the driver. Oh well I'll figure something out.

I measured the array and it is 20 1/4" long, a little short. I'll have to add some wood to the tweeter braces at the top and bottom.

Do any of you end up with your angles off? I think I'll get an accurate protractor.
