Our little hobby and free shows had resulted in three gigs were being paid in DJ Light fixtures and my cousin with more Lab 15s. Things look awesome and I can’t believe what happening in Northwest New Mexico. Even Albuquerque and El Paso may be in our future. And as expected everyone that’s a DJ here is scheming and planning to match our set-up and have enlisted novices to take monikers of VJ to help the djs now. And gone are analogue lights, full on and sound activated light shows. So with a renewed interests in the tuba we plan to finish the final three and posted are the modifications from the last build to help others find their perfect tuba without having to built 4 to work out kinks.

On tuba 3 we had some confusion on the first cuts, we didn’t have a saw jig or decided on a universal kerf, clamp and measuring guidelines. This time we came up with a short list of do’s and don’ts we both follow now. A bad measure here only amplifies when you draw the horn path and attach panels

On tuba 3 we used only one straightening jig on the diagonal this wasn’t enough so we had made for the whole edge of the side panel. The screws are going through the same holes that will secure the inside panels as they are installed.

With the added straighten jigs this time the bow in the said panel is about 1/16th of an inch in the center Success.!!!

Tuba 4 Modification is the recessed driver panel. I plan to buy a router because using a chisel and sandpaper takes forever.

Nifty. Is that a rim of planks around the edge, anything else in the guts or does the rim take care of it? I would think a single stringer across the middle would get your panel dead flat, not 1/16th even.
BAT10, Bad Auto Tuba. Reverse folded TAT to fit JBL 1014D, 350W driver, voltage limit unknown.

:clap: for getting that done with no more than chisel and sandpaper. You deserve to use a router on the next build.

Piffle. Proper technique, a sharp 2" chisel and a deadblow hammer speeds things up tremendously.

Well i got the 4th tuba done by out next gig posted below are the differences from the 3rd tuba

We first corner loaded the tubas but ended up flipping them towards the dance floor. I don’t think we will ever load the Tubas in the corners for anything less than concrete. Unfortunate my workstation was in the path of the tubas. I had to tape monitors and computer and mice to the table and my visuals computer had a fatal disk error halfway through the show. After doing some trouble shooting it was found out that the tubas worked two data cables on the mother broad out of there sockets!!!!! And my ears were still ringing after a wad of paper and foam ear plugs in my ears. But it was all worth it.

Dang, my t48 can't do that, nearly but no cigar.

What was the venue, kind of looked like the way out of a mega stadium?

It's the 4-H pravillion at the San Juan County Fair in new mexico. It think this where the Jams and Jellies get judged. :| :shock:
