THIS is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. IT'S CALLED AN ENGINE!!!! A motor is "a machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy, as an induction motor."

If your reciever has a crossover built in, that's probably good enough.

heeheeheehee .......I know what you mean. That one doesn't bother me.
However, my peeve is the guys who come on the forum wanting to know if their sub-woofer can work in one of Bill's design. IT'S A SPEAKER! Or, a DRIVER! Until it is in an appropriate enclosure, it ain't a sub or a sub-woofer. It's just speaker.
Maybe we need to start a pet peeve thread......I'm sure somebody's pet peeve will be people hijacking threads.......
"A system with a few knobs set up by someone who knows what they are doing is always better than one with a lot of knobs set up by someone who doesn't."

alright, i'll definately consider that one although something with a built in crossover would be nice.
Is there anything like the dayton sa1000 available but in a lower wattage? I really like that amp, it's clean, simple and has just the basic functions, but the 1000w rating puts the cost slightly higher.
The only thing less expensive than that with DSP that I can think of is the Behringer NU1000DSP... should be enough for a HT sub, and has all the DSP you want.

I knew this would cause a controversy. Just because it has become accepted to use the word motor when referring to an engine, doesn't mean it's right. Kinda like the entire "urban slang dictionary". I refuse to bow down to morons and their inferior vocabulary.
Which sentence is correct?
"I appreciate your being here."
"I appreciate you being here."
"Thank you for going with Mike and me."
"Thank you for going with Mike and I."
"This was a historical event."
"This was an historical event."

Thou art correct, best Sir!
Methinks we must all resolve to anchor in cement - nay, granite - the vocabulary and grammar of the late 18th century, when - as all of a litterary inclination must surely agree - the language reached a pinnacle which the modern man can only dream of attaining.
