finished and installed. I didn't really appreciate how big this thin was until I put it in my room, It's giant!

How does it sound, pretty good. Sound per $ ($400 including amp, driver, ply, and other hardware), nothing can touch it. Sound per cubic foot hard to say. I can't help but wonder if 18 sunfires wouldn't be pretty impressive (although at $1000 each the advantage shifts back to the THT).

I need to spend some time and get it dialed in. I listened to Bass Mekanik and grinned the pressure from the bass is a little disturbing (in a good way). Tried a few movies passages that I know are bassey like the arc light seen in Apocalypse Now, very good.

Now I must think about a TT for the billiards room. Why do these things have to be so big? (rhetorical question)

Thank you all for your advice and support through my build, yes a giant cab can be built with a circular saw and a jig saw (and a router to round off the corners). Impressive plans and easy to build.

18 smaller subs will not equal a folded horn. One of the best reasons to use a folded horn sub in home theatre is that you can't find it with your ears. Cross it over below 100 hz, and have your friends be amazed.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the Tuba HT, but I think 18 Sunfire subs would equal the output of the THT. $18K vs $400 is the difference. I probably am going to be sorry I said that.....

One more thing. Advice for anyone that's as dumb as me. Check the crossover on your amp if it has one. I was slightly underwhelmed listening with the crossover on and the low pass set as low as it would go. Turning off the sub crossover made a huge difference, imagine that. I had to cut the sub output by 10 dB to keep my filling in my mouth.

Ok took the time to get levels set etc. I watched a movie. Saving Private Ryan at reference. BFM is a subwoofer god! I can not believe how powerful this thing is. The tanks were amazing, gunfire was actually felt in my gut. WOW! How could anyone not have one of these?
