It's in the plans.

10% is not unheard of, but where are you buying them from? If you had bought from www.speakerhardware.com you would have everything you need except wood, interior padding and finish, and he can even send you DuraTex! Check his prices and see if he doesn't beat even your local suppliers!

I test them for operation. If you want to test for optimum performance about 10% is right.

None. Tops are just that, tops. This makes for an incomplete system, and incomplete sound.

If you are asking about Bill's best full-range cabinet, then your choices are the Jacks or the Omni series. This is why we stress modularity. Let's say you build Omni Top12s and T39s. For really small, intimate gigs, bring 1 of each. For 100, bring 2 of each. See the pattern? This way, you bring what you need, have great sound, and only build 2 different cabs.

FWIW, I would recommend you build in small batches, 2-4 cabs at a time. Build 4 tops, and 2 slim plus 2 wide subs. Add to the pile as required.

This would be a permanent install system in a quasi-outdoor environment. A covered event venue with 3 walls, so to speak. I could do subs, but I'd have to fly em, as I am with the mains. The MACKIE 450 sounds pretty good in there. I was thinking a "center" mounted array of 3-4 DR200 or OT12 with a couple T39s. It's an interesting application, at least, to me it is. It's a venue that I have exclusive rights to and the owner is hip to me permanently installing a setup.

Really appreciate your help.

You'll need a lot more subs if you fly 'em. V-plate 'em and put 'em under the stage.

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

You could mount the subs in a ceiling corner (or both, if the back wall is at least 56' wide!) and gain corner loading. An inside the venue picture would be very helpful.

I cringe when I hear people wanting to fly speakers. There's SO much possible danger and liability in doing it. Unless you intend to have an engineer certify the entire project (costly), flying is not a wise decision.

He wants a first class sound system and yet has no stage? Combine the two projects.
BTW, unless you're the venue owner he needs to purchase a set of plans for the speakers being installed. Only authorized builders have the right to sell speakers. The only exception is if you're donating them.

How do you like the miniDSP? What does it do in your setup?
