xti eq

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

use the output EQ. the input EQ lets you adjust the signal before any other DSP or signal routing, so it's pre-HPF and LPF, limiter, etc.

So why would you eq before processing? I guess i am trying to figure out the point of 2 eqs.

Originally I figured the output one was just the one going out the line levels outs. I thought well that is nice so I can EQ another amp but I couldn't find any info on it. It probably is staring me in the face, sometimes those are the hardest things to see.

If you are having a specific frequency that is hitting the limiter while the rest of the spectrum has plenty of headroom, you can duck that specific freq on the preEQ without dropping the overall levels. I'm not familiar with the XTi personally, so I don't know how practical this could be in real life, or which other features might be affected by the pre-EQ, but this is one reason you might use the preEQ.

You can use them any way you like, but I would use the output EQ for straightening your cab's response. The input EQ for correcting the room, notching out room modes, things like that.

I can see that. Thanks for all the responses. If nothing you have whole second set of EQing you can do if the original 7? bands aren't enough.
