settings on voltmeter when measuring voltage on amp?

#1 Post by osse »

helllo, found this info on the site before but can't find it again.

To avoid the risk of frying my voltmeter, how am I supposed to set it up to measure RMS voltage on amp?

Which connections on the multimeter should I use?

This is the model I have:

Thanks!

Set the dial to 200 on the Vac scale (Volts, alternating current). The leads are in the proper holes in the picture. Put the red (positive) lead on the + terminal of the amp, and the black lead on the - terminal.

VAC 200. Keep the wires as they are.

The polarity (+ and - vs red/black) doesn't matter in that case.
