Great looking rig! Did you build the rack from a plan? I need to build one soon as the one I have now is running out of room.

I was thinking the same thing. If this is a plan could you share where you got it? my RMX is becoming a nightmare.

I based it off of a rack that we had in an old band. But I fixed the things that I didn't like about the old one. Mainly, making sure that the top was tall enough to close with the cables still plugged into the board.

That covers are compression fit and still work really well.

I had a build thread for it last year, but it looks like it's gone now. I'll see if I can find the old pics to give you an idea...

I'd have to resize all the pics to post 'em here. Send me a PM with your email and I'll send them to you. They aren't real detailed, but along with some commentary - enough to get you going in the right direction.

No, that was just showing the hookups. There was a build thread that showed the process......

PM me and I'll send pics.

Yeah, but I built the rack BEFORE the BFMs. :)

Bruce...
just out of curiosity can you run the entire rack off of the single Furman Power strip?

If so, is it a 15amp or 20amp strip. I'd be curious to know what the rack pulls down for current at war volume...
Built so far:
AutoTuba. TAT, T18, T30, T39, SLA, SLA Pro, DR200, Omni 12TB, Omni 12 Sub, Omni 10.5,

It's a 15 amp Furman....everything runs through it including my pedal board and a fan on those outside Texas gigs. We draw very little juice as there are no amps on stage. I think my homemade light boxes draw more than the PA. We've run the entire band, PA and lights off one 20amp generator for an outdoor gig with no problem....and the generator was probably 100 ft away with only 12ga wire.

I never added up the total amp draw from the rack, but with almost everything digital - it ain't much.

Honestly? Not a huge difference in sound. The melded gives you better horizontal dispersion, and that's why I built 'em. I stack the CDs on top of the melded and it works just fine.
