Re: Jack 12 review
Look Harley, I already have my Jack plans. I almost have my garage cleared out enough to build a couple without killing either myself or the cabinet. I'm having enough trouble figuring out which Jack configuration to go with. I don't need anyone successfully convincing me that a DR and a sub is the way to go now. Blarrrgh

I have Bill's prototype, with the "kickstand" and I am adding a melded array and filters with an all on/alloff by-pass switch. IOW, when the tweeters are on, the filters are used. When switched off, the filters are by-passed.bzb wrote:Any of you bass nerds using a single 110/112 with the little kickstand that Leland sells?

Any other feet or anything on the bottom, or just the rubber caps on the kickstand? Wondering if it stays put on something like a hardwood stage, or if you need the other rubber feet on it. Also, is the angle enough to get the sound up at you?DJPhatman wrote:I have Bill's prototype, with the "kickstand" and I am adding a melded array and filters with an all on/alloff by-pass switch. The hard rubber feet Leland sells. The kick-back is not as severe as you thing. I keep my 6RU plastic SKB case on top with the cab tilted, but it is strapped on. Once the composite one is done, I'll post a review from bass players who don't know who Bill Fitzmaurice is. I will really try for video with sound when they get the 1st listen. On my floors, the cab does not move, and I did have it cranked pretty high. Most everything in the house was vibrating and rattling, except the cab!

Very nice. How close is the composite one to being done?
My only luck with getting good sound from a camera mounted mic has been using a shotgun condenser mic on my Sony shoulder mount. The problem there is outdoors, the condenser picks up way too much wind noise, and it's hard to edit out.
Typically, I just use my little P&S Canon SD780 to take my videos and the mic is pretty good as long as you're far enough from the cabs, or you don't have them cranked to 11.
