Sealing the 1/4" jack on my ot12 build?

#1 Post by mobetter »

Is it ok to mount a 1/4 jack on the back. It won't be sealed if I install it, but than there's already
3 vent ports, does it matter?

IMHO just use speakon jacks. If you do install the 1/4" jack it will not be to bad as long as there is a speaker wire plugged in. If you install 2 jacks and are only using 1 I would plug the unused jack. A small box can always be built in the back to seal off the jacks.

Why does anyone use jacks on any speaker cab? Speakons lock, are airtight and have a positive electrical connection. It's a no brainer.

Foam earplugs to seal the 1/4" jack.
