Started my otop 12's this weekend.

Hey all, after a bunch of planning and practice cuts, etc, I have the first baffle cut for my otop 12's.

I ordered the jig plans as well, so I made the table saw sled first.

I then decided to start with what looked like the most intimidating first. Everything came out really clean. I used a circle cutter attachment for my router and then used a harbor freight clamping guide to cut the straight bits.

Everything was turning out really clean until I got to the last straight and ended up walking the router away from the guide.

It's alright though, I made a little patch and glued it in, should be fine. You can see where it's clamped in the picture.

a good carpenter isnt measured by how well he can cut a straight line, but by how well he can hide the cut he messed up. no worries. once you sand/paint... no one will ever know.

Looking at more pictures, it looks like the horn will cover my mistake anyways.

Cut the horn braces, and pl/tacked them in place. I also added some boards to keep them square overnight (not pictured)

Cut the nozzle on an angle, and develop a skilled touch on your caulk gun. My Jack10 looked similar at that stage but after a couple panels I got much better.

Also, wear disposable latex gloves, and you can smooth put PL with a finger.

Thanks, the problem there was that I had to reglue the panel and ended up wiping the pl off. That's why it ended up everywhere haha. I'll be checking on it tonight and moving forward with the next panel.

I've hidden a multitude of sins under coats of polyester body filler.

Horn reflectors installed.

Went much easier than I thought, just had to cut them a little oversized and do a little final shaping with hand plane.

I was in awe when I dropped the first one in and it fit perfect lol.

Make sure you cut out as much PL from the joints that you can or when you paint it will look funny.

Im going to make some sort of grill, so im not too worried about the inside.
