+1 - This has been my experience as well.EW wrote: The XF's meet the stated design goals, better dispersion/coverage with less beaming. The guitarist I lent them one two preferred it over a 412 in probably every aspect except it doesnt have the Rock Band stage presence of the 412, if you're into that sort of thing. I'd say I'm not, but I built two Omni 15's for bass guitar duty.....
The guitarist I built an XF212 loaded with Eminence Wizards for replaced his Marshall 1960V 4x12 loaded with Celestion Vintage 30's. He was hesitant to try it, but after just a few strums, he stuck with it and has used it now for about two weeks and continues to complement the tone he gets from it. He is amazed he is able to hear himself so much better than he was from his 4x12 with twice the speakers. The audience and his bandmates appreciate the reduced stage wash. He powers his with a Marshal DSL50 and uses an American Standard Strat.
As a result, I have another order for an XF212 from the rhythm guitarist in the same band who plays a Gibson into a Fender amp. I'm putting Eminence Red, White & Blues in his, the American cousin speakers to the British Wizard/Governor/Private Jack tone.
