Long Time Coming T24-16" DR200

#1 Post by T_Gowan »

Just had to drop a line, I've been working on these for quite a while ,2 years  I have no real need for them right now but I had to finish to the point where they could be tried out.

Took them out to a farm to do an outdoor test.
2 T24, 16" Bp 102, 2 DR200, old style curved inner horn, melded array,
Yamaha P2200 for subs, P2050 for DRs , DCX for control.
Tried to take some measurements Pink, Swept etc but a bit windy so I think my recording is a bit off.

I didn't have my limiter set :slap: Had made some changed in settings on the DCX and my volt meter was 2 hours away, but I knew the peak meters on the Yamaha pretty well and I didn't push it, just wanted to hear them turned up a bit.

My first impression was "the bottom is OK but not impressive, O wait one of the subs banana plug is reversed, Now that is OK for 2 10" speakers with a 30 year old amp." Not chest thumping but nice full bottom end and this is outdoors too.
Now for the DRs. I am so pleased with these, clear, transparent, LOUD with a 50 watt amp.

Now to try and get some better measurements and set some eq in the DCX.

But over all quite pleased,
Maybe now more DRs, T39s????

That is awesome, thanks for sharing. You have any pictures of your setup?

You think you'll be building any more?

I have pics of both projects from the beginning to the end, they aren't completely finished, handles, wheels, corners. I covered them with rodent fur, which I would not do again. Too dirty and hard to cover all the complex angles etc. I have to look into uploading pics, I've never done it before on this site.

Always thinking of building more, right now the band I'm in has its own system (Mackie) and I want all the bugs out before I spring anything on them. So I'm not under the gun to make a usable system, ( just for my own satisfaction ) I work better under pressure .
