Sure amps
The spec says that they can run on a wide range of voltage. If using them in the car, can you just hook them up to 12 volts, or do you have to buy the power supply?

Re: Sure amps
yes, you can hook them straight to your 12v. Through a fuse of course.

Revision
From
http://www.sureelectronics.net/goods.php?id=960
The page says
# Operating voltage range: 10V-30V, the maximum voltage of power supply is 32V
But later says
"Only use approved high quality DC power supply. The use of other adaptors or supplies could seriously damage the Amplifier board. 24V DC 14.6A 350W Regulated Switching Power Supply is recommended."
From the Comment section:
" In theory the amplifier could be powered by 12V 3A or more power supply. It is recommended to power it by 27V 350W MW power supply."

Re: Sure amps
I think it will work ok, but you won't get the max output from the amp with only a 12v power supply

From Comments...but you won't get the max output from the amp with only a 12v power supply
" What is the output @ 4 Ohm 12V DC supply? Chendy 2010-05-18 04:04:09
When you use "12v supply @ 4 ohms", the RMS value of output power of each channel is no more than 18W. "
Performance degradation as well
http://www.sure-electronics.net/downloa ... 1.0_EN.pdf
Overcurrent shutdown is reduced, S/N Ration and Channel Separation figures of merit are reduced.
It appears to be optimized for higher voltage hence the statement
"24V DC 14.6A 350W Regulated Switching Power Supply is recommended."

Re: Sure amps
So if I were to buy two of the four channel amps, could i power both of them with one power supply?

Re: Sure amps
you could build or buy a voltage doubler to boost the voltage from 12-24 volts. i'm not sure how to do this but i know it can be done.
