+1. To just say 142dB is meaningless. You need to specify both dB output and frequency response. As far as beating the BH760 is concerned, the T60 2x12 has roughly equivalent response and output capability, so if you need to beat four BH760 with the same response you build six T60. If you don't need to go as low as the BH760 you beat them with six 2x12 T48.Turntablist wrote:Sorry, I meant depth of music, how low you want to hit!

Well, in that case, take the beefiest driver/drivers you can find, mount it/them on a 4-5' long horn with the mouth as big as possible.

If that's as low as you need to go six 2x12 T39s will do it. There's absolutely no reason for anyone to use BH760s if the low end limit is only 55Hz, or only 40Hz for that matter.Carlos Alexis wrote:55 to 65 at the most!!!

Re: folded horn for 4 to 8 15s
With a mouth that big it's easy to reach maximum sensitivity(110-112db) at 60hz, so after that it's all about finding drivers that can take as much power as possible.
Punishers would probably suit you well, they don't go low and they take lots of power, but they are expensive. I would recommend any of Bill's designs but none of them are optimal really for this application. It depends on how much cash you've got. If you're short on cash Bill's designs will work best.

Re: folded horn for 4 to 8 15s
Here is our dilemma: nobody knows what the hell you are trying to do!
From the original post it kind of looks like you are describing a van with open door at the back which isn't as wide at top as at the bottom, and a stack of speakers to be aimed out the back at a mic 10ft away. That's the best I can make of it!

And he has a space that is 49"*49"*84".
What we don't know is how much cash he's got to spend.

Re: folded horn for 4 to 8 15s
I'm not rich, but have paid already for (4) community m4s and (8) s2005 eminence drivers.
I was thinking of eminence kilomax woofers, but also can get some crazy digital designs woofers.
I just need to get very loud and will not like to spend all summer trying things won't work.
I can do trial and error, but with the proper guidance and advice.
Thanks for your interest and coments.

aaaaarrrgggg, did I guess correctly?????????????????
Re: folded horn for 4 to 8 15s
Okay, I'll take a shot and assume that you have a 49"x49" opening in the back of your van, and that you want it to be pretty much all horn mouth. It seems to me that nine HL10C-loaded ATs would be the best tool for the job, HP @ 55hz / 48db slope.Carlos Alexis wrote:How many can I fit in 49 x 49?

Looks like, a few years back, these guys in Sweden got the "big-horn bug" also : http://www.minhembio.com/The_rose/122971/
It appears to be a bit larger than 49"x49" though.
