Re: Portable 2.1 setup
What about angling the sla’s up? Or have them removable still? When I was camping last weekend I put the rsx-4’s on my roof rack and the soundstage was just killer. Just imagining now that I know that 2.1 amp + mulwaukee 4 ah xc battery = 8 hours battery life. Your title reminded me of an older thre...

Re: Portable 2.1 setup
Good story. Hahahaha I had to move my tubaht to my shop from my Garage as my wife complained that the dishes were shaking in the house. And I thought I could barley hear it They’re beasts! Sub frequencies are not directional. You could have it face away from a group in the middle of a field and get ...

Re: Portable 2.1 setup
Except the sub exits to the side which in the countryside isn’t quite so focused. Can a baffle be added to direct it to the front? Sub frequencies are not directional. You could have it face away from a group in the middle of a field and get the same perceived output in the groups location as if it...

Re: Portable 2.1 setup
Little and horn loaded are mutually exclusive terms. T18 is the smallest possible horn loaded sub, which you might use with a pair of small SLA Pro. Oh I knows it. It takes space. I was thinking of somehow doing it with a trucktuba and have it dual purpose Because making a Sla for the top and split...

Re: Portable 2.1 setup
I'd like to know how these little amps sound with different voltage applied. The link say it operates at 12-24v. Would there be more volume at 18v versus 12v? Would there be distortion or clipping at 24v? Would there a voltage "sag" at 12v? I guess all amps are different so it depends. I ...

Portable 2.1 setup
I picked one of parts-Express’s 2.1 amps, as it also has Bluetooth. The little thing rocks. https://www.parts-express.com/TPS3116D2-Class-D-2.1-Bluetooth-5.0-Amplifier-Board-2-x-50W-100W-with-Filter-and-Volume-Co-320-635 On a milwaukee 4ah xc 18v battery, running 2 klipsch rsx-4’s and a 10” JL seale...

Re: Auto or Truck Tuba, 10" driver check
Thanks for the reply. Oh I’m well aware of the effects of width :-) Nice setup too. No doubt it thumbs! I appreciate the feedback greatly. I don't know enough about this stuff to say what effect using your driver will have. However, I've used the recommended 8" driver in a Tall AutoTuba and als...

Auto or Truck Tuba, 10" driver check
I built a 36^3 TubaHT to go with my La Scala's quite a number of years ago and it's just been killer. Now for my truck, I have a little 10" sealed JL sub, but it's just not the same. It feels so ... forced and not easy like my TubaHT at all. The box is: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_136110TGW3/...

Re: Clamping Power Tool Guides -> Help your circular saw become a table saw
If I didn't have one however, I would forsake the expense of what is basically a straight edge, and put the same money towards a router if that's where I was short in tools... Read the panel Jig plans again and absolutely you can glue up some straight plywood, if you have it laying around for your ...

Re: Clamping Power Tool Guides -> Help your circular saw become a table saw
Just passing this along for those of us without table saws. I used these thoroughly during my build During final assembly of my TubaHT, the panel width deviations were less than 1/16" of each other. Probably 1/32 or less, and I have no skills... Came in super handy for my cordless circular saw...
