Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Yeah I haven't found a voltage limiting function yet. doesn't mean it doesn't have it, just that I can't find it.

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Yes, one is completed. Sub number 2 is all cut out and ready for assembly. I'm not going to have much assistance on the second one, so I hope I've learned well through the process of building the first one.

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
It's up and running. Very impressed with the sub's sound. Not impressed with my room's response to it. I've tried corner loading it, wall loading it, pointing it straight out into the middle. I'm sure the second sub will even it out. The room is funny shaped. Like a rectangle with one side cut at an...

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
I didn't think the XTI gave me the option of a highpass filter in conjunction with the crossover. The Driverack will be required later anyways. Also I've only found how to limit the xti in db increments not voltage. Any hints here?

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
I went ahead and finished it up today. All that's left are the flanges on the access panel, but I need some lunch first. Really looking forward to hearing this things tomorrow. It didn't quite square up perfectly with the last panels, but wasn't far off and I think some sanding and duratex will make...

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Tonight we did panels 7 and 8 and their respective braces. It's not pretty but it looks like it's going to be airtight. After filling, sanding, and duratex I think it will come out alright. I also drilled one of the holes for the 16gauge speaker cable. Have not yet stapled it though. Yes I'm aware t...

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Since this is a 24" wide cabinet, should I use 1 or 2 braces? I was thinking one, then when I held up a brace against the cabinet, I thought maybe 2 would be better. So far I'd decided on one brace on the 2 smallest sections and then 2 on the rest including the opening. Opinions? Opinions aren...

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Got a little more work done tonight. A few more panels installed and got ALL the rest of the panels and braces cut. Since this is a 24" wide cabinet, should I use 1 or 2 braces? I was thinking one, then when I held up a brace against the cabinet, I thought maybe 2 would be better. So far I'd de...

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
I got the first 3 panels installed today on my first cabinet. I finished sanding on both the spacers (that's a lot more work than anticipated. I thought for sure I'd have no slapping and I was dead wrong... poor jigsaw skills at the moment, may my next BFM build be better than this). I'm currently l...

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Great point on the 4 single loaded cabs. The purpose of the T24s was that I have 2 QSC HPR122is that are sitting on end tables that are 24 inches tall in my music room. It needed a sub(s) for a while and I finally decided to just build them. I will probably replace or repurpose the HPRs with some ot...

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
I got to thinking this evening. Am I making a mistake not putting 2 drivers in this 24inch cabinet? I'm using the Kappalite 3010LF, so that's another $400. But once I glue that panel in, there's no turning back. I'm not sure why I decided to just use one in the first place. Feeling like a noob. Edit...

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Gotcha. In that paragraph it mentions screws a few times and bolts once. So I will get #8 wood screws. Are those the correct locking washers at least?

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
This afternoon I got the baffle and spacer cut as well as panels 4,5,6. No gluing yet. Waiting for a second set of hands later this evening that has much more experience than myself. I'm including a pic of what I understand I'm suppose to use to fasten the driver to the spacer.

Re: 1st Build 2x Tuba 24
Sorry, that second question wasn't well worded. Yes, access panel. I was more thinking of what to fasten the driver to the spacer that would allow for it to be changed out. recex makes sense. Thanks! Heading to the hardware store and getting back to work on these.
