table tuba and THT max driver depth
Hi, anyone know what the max depth of a sub that can fit in the table tuba and THT?
I hope to build one of the two eventually but am seeing what can be made with the drivers I have. I think the t/s specs are good.

Re: David build
Not sure if my model is right but I've tried to model the david in hornresp and I do see a dip at 85hz (but not at 55). It may be possible to bring that region up with EQ.

Re: David build
Nice clean build Jammer. I used dark shellac on mine and it wasn't blotchy. https://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewtopic.php?p=258774#p258774 I had dye stain recommended to me for baltic birch but I haven't tried it. https://generalfinishes.com/wood-finishes-retail/water-based-wood-stains-and-dye-st...

Re: "Fast", "Punchy" and other such subjective terms used to describe bass
I'm sure if it's the lower cone excursion per spl or the flatter phase response but my david towers (basically an autotuba) do drums like nothing else. I'm watching the cartoon avatar with my daughter and there is alot of drums in the soundtrack. Taiko drums I believe, and it sounds great.

Re: Vented rear chamber horn subwoofer
To me that devastator might make alot of spl for movies but I don't think music would sound good. Take for example the phase response of the devastator nano from the hornresponse model. At 60 hz the phase is at -165 and at 120 hz the phase is 151 degrees. Let say we have a kick drum with a fundament...

Re: triangular ports
Well i have winisd and that can model square and round ports but wanted to try triangle ports. How do i calculate the length and how much does proximity to the side wall and or floor effect the tuning?

triangular ports
Bill and friends does anyone have an idea how to model triangular ports? I see bill sells plans for the simplexx with triangular ports but I can't support him this time because this is for a 4th order bandpass design. I'm also thinking of adding a quarter wavelength resonant trap to the vent. Anyone...

What was the reason it didn’t work for low bass?

Vented rear chamber horn subwoofer
A year or so ago I was playing with hornresp and my approximation of a t18. I figured out I could get better low end extension by porting the rear chamber. Frequency response looked good but I noticed the impulse response went to hell. There's a sub design on youtube and avsforum called the devastat...

Re: 2 pairs of davids
The blade on the saw is curved so you just start going back and forth while slowly bringing the saw vertical untill the teeth come out the other side. Don't think I explained it well but it's called an azebiki saw.

Re: 2 pairs of davids
Its all Baltic birch except the walnut corner pieces. The shellac really brought out the texture of the wood.
