Re: A new BFMer from Houston
On the PA front: I just recently acquired two used DR250s loaded with beta 10s and straight 10 piezo arrays from a friend to replace my HD1521s. I beleive they were built in 07-08, some older revision than my current plans show. The piezo array isn't isolated from the woofer. They're great! I've had...

Re: what amps are everyone using to power their THTs?
Soldering on PCB is an easy skill to acquire. I taught my non-mechanically inclined brother to do it in 15 minutes. Semi-defeating the subsonic filter on the Bash 300 should be easy peasy. Just need 39 and 150 kohm resistors. That would give you a HPF of 13.9hz, and a 1db boost from 20-24hz. I plan ...

Re: what amps are everyone using to power their THTs?
Based on what I've read here, the Bash 300 will be perfectly adequate. I bought 2 of them for my future THTx2 build.

Re: Gear in a trailer
Just found that all of my 9V and AA batteries that I've been keeping in the trailer are dead. Bringing that tote inside during the summer from now on.

We could rent out a multi-venue convention center or fairground. Would be pretty awesome.

I'd be down for this. Gotta get a passport first. BFMfest 2013Patrick Mos wrote:sorry, my coffee hasn't sunk in yet.
Would be cool... a worldwide BFM meet.

Re: Witnessed my first really bad wedding DJ last night
In my experience, when it comes to choosing a band/DJ for a wedding function, the bride and groom and/or their advisors, haven't a clue. This. The couple hasn't a clue when choosing a DJ. The past two weddings I've gone two this month used QSC K-series speakers. Oddly, the larger venue used K8s, an...

Re: presonus universal control?
You and me both, brotha! Just got my Studiolive early this year. Now, you can't make me go back to analog. +1 Great pseudo-analog entry into the digital world. Also, Rick Naqvi (PreSonus) has been asked if they'll release the control software to "open source" products, and he's said that ...

Re: presonus universal control?
You technically don't have to get an iPad. Before they came out with the SL Remote app for the iPad, you could use a VNC remote viewer app. Such a VNC viewer can be had on Android, IOS, OSX, and PC. Through this method, you would remotely control the mouse and keyboard on the laptop connected to th...

Re: Thoughts on high end processors?
Time to derail the thread even further. Greg, the best PA I've ever heard was Bruce's, run with a Presonus mixer, the same model I have, in fact. Ok, to continue on track: Rick, according to my research, the 260 is just more flexible in terms of I/O and processing, so unless you are running a more c...

Re: 4xOmnitop 12 with 2x Titan 39 Outdoor dispersion demo
It's all good man! Next time I record anything with sound as a priority, I need to use my Zoom H1. The onboard mic of this HC-X900 doesn't capture the low or high end as well as I'd hoped. I also found that it will clip around 118db in the mid-range. Here are a couple more. I have a couple videos of...
