Re: XF210 build in the UK

How did you manage to bend the steel corners on the top front edge? Brute force & a big hammer, or some other, more refined method? I've been thinking this conundrum over for several weeks, as I plan my 210 build. Having built (& heavily used) the 212, I've decided corners are a must. The an...

Re: XF210 build in the UK

Did you know that screwfix do a (limited) range of tee nuts? They're reasonably priced in packs of 10 I think - I used M6's for my XF212, which is almost too big (danger of breaking out into the main driver cutout if you're not 100% centered). I'll also be going for 16ohm drivers when I get to my 21...

Re: XF210 build in the UK

Did you go for the legend 1058's in the end? Where did you get them from?

Re: XF210 build in the UK

I'm hoping for two things from an XF210 vs the XF212: 1. Size & portability - the 212 only just fits in my car with all the other kit I generally have to carry, and as a result it is getting really scuffed and torn. Looks good being authentically aged an so on, but I just can't help feeling a li...

Re: XF210 build in the UK

I run my 212 with a 18W head, and the most common comment I get is "that must be more than 18W" - it competes quite competently with our other guitarist's Marshall TSL 60W combo. I've got a pair of old goodmans Audiom drivers in it currently - a bit too dark for my liking, but pretty good ...

Re: XF210 build in the UK

I used something just like that for my XF212, but its softwood (shuttering) ply as opposed to birch or other hardwood ply. On top of that, its barely 12mm in places, and lumpy because of those overlapping plies. Having said all that, it was dirt cheap (about £17 a sheet if I remember correctly), and...

Re: Lining material options?

Thanks I'll bear that one in mind. Nobody will see the pink anyway, so colour's not problem.

Re: Lining material options?

Thanks Bruce - appreciate your efforts. Does that mean you thing that wadding is less good than foam?

In any event, a friend has managed to bag me about 20 sq feet of packing foam, so I'll see how that measures up before splashing the cash!

Lining material options?

Here's a simple question for you all: I'm part way through an XF212 and a pair of J110's - to line the cabs, could I use 9oz polyester wadding like this: http://www.worldofwool.co.uk/products/77/fibre_fill_and_wadding/polyester_wadding_305g_9oz.htm ? 9oz is about 1.25" thick, so that's only sli...
