Re: Started my otop 12's this weekend.

Horn reflectors installed.

Went much easier than I thought, just had to cut them a little oversized and do a little final shaping with hand plane.

I was in awe when I dropped the first one in and it fit perfect lol.

Re: Started my otop 12's this weekend.

Pl is messy shit! Cut the nozzle on an angle, and develop a skilled touch on your caulk gun. My Jack10 looked similar at that stage but after a couple panels I got much better. Also, wear disposable latex gloves, and you can smooth put PL with a finger. Thanks, the problem there was that I had to r...

Started my otop 12's this weekend.

Hey all, after a bunch of planning and practice cuts, etc, I have the first baffle cut for my otop 12's. I ordered the jig plans as well, so I made the table saw sled first. I then decided to start with what looked like the most intimidating first. Everything came out really clean. I used a circle c...

It was a lumber yard

Re: Baltic Birch Prices

Yeah i read in the plans to avoid veneered. I ended up getting a 6 or 7 ply fir that looks pretty nice. It was much cheaper, like 20ish for a 4x8. I'm going to use this for my otops and track down some cheaper bb for the t30's when I get to them.

Re: Hey all, planning otop 12's and t30's

Makes sense I guess, it's just weird to me, i've always done stereo for live sound. I've also stood in the center for sound checks though too haha. Well mono would be cheaper, easier and apparently sound better too. I'll be sure to make a build thread once I get rolling. Thanks again for the help.

Re: Hey all, planning otop 12's and t30's

Cool thanks for the tips guys. Am I correct in that the only difference between the 1000,2000,4000, etc is the power ratings? If that is the case, I think I could get away with the 1000/2000 for the tops and use my powered sub for now? Then when I build the tubas, get a 4000 for them? I really want ...
