Neoprene rubber makes winding up 100ft. of 12GA+ cable easier than PVC. Similar cable @ P.E. is priced ~33% higher.
EDIT: I thought it was 12ga. but it is 14ga. May want to be more specific on the length and power requirements.

Re: 2510 loaded J10's from Argentina
That's a build to be proud of, for sure! Very cool and vibrant, warm color. Can't really tell but you must have painted the filler black on the top and bottom. I only have one suggestion: get some padding on the baffle around the driver due to it being parallel with the back piece. The reason I say ...

Re: The Smiley Face EQ
No new news to many sound reinforcement guys here regarding ELC's (Equal Loudness Contours) where the subject of psychoacoustics . Certainly nothing new about the "smiley" or "disco" smile but in the discussion of the subject is where a couple gems, in my opinion, are found. Note...

The Smiley Face EQ
I thought this was interesting especially for bass guitar. I copied out 2 notes I thought stood out. Those notes confirm a few things I have thought about for a long time and have been greatly solved by using BFM designs. Not new info here but hopefully it will help some find tone happiness without ...

Re: Bass that's right.
And thanks for your post Harley. I ignored the other vids as I was drained of enthusiasm for expanding my aural horizons. That one should get reposted in the education section under "What is system headroom? / what you miss with too much compression". Indeed, +1. I was thinking the exact ...

Re: Bass that's right.
I LOVE Kitchen Nightmare's ... I think Sine143 was merely referring to the those of us who are interested in best practices in sound engineering (bass in particular in this article) versus the average consumer who generally do not care about the science behind it, or non-enthusiasts. So "us&quo...

LOL!!! I can't stop laughing @ Mr. East's post. I can just imagine what passes for "great sound" [in a technical sense] these days. Case in point is my reply to Sine143: [youtube]<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtu...

Re: Twin J110 's
Thank you, Grey Owl. I'd love to take at least some credit for the 2-tone look but it was the last thing I intended. This was supposed to be the cheap pre-Duratex finish only, but built it up as the final finish to save some $$$. Plus, it is so cheap a finish that I won't  if I sand it down and...

Re: Bass that's right.
Ya, what's up with the advocacy of distorted bass for trance, et. al.? I always thought it was just normal clear bass but with a lot more speaker area to bump up the sub-bass?

Re: Bass that's right.
It all sounds pretty good at low levels, but when things get cooking, up comes the roar from below. What sounds good at low volumes just does not work for at performance levels and he explains why. Good bass, goodness, I have rarely ever heard it live. I particularly loved his 8 points of what &quo...

Re: Bass Guitar Frequency Reproduction
These are 'wavelet transforms' of 2 bass guitar tracks (solo). The horizontal line is TIME, the vertical FREQ, and the colors, INTENSITY. red being the strongest, blue the weakest, and yellow the middle. A full screenprint would have lost too much resolution. The graph is limited to 10Hz - 1KHz. The...
