Re: Okay fellow speaker heads..let's role play 8-)
i'm not sure about the high production costs, what if somebody starts to have them built in a low wage country ?
I'm sure the cabs won't be all that expensive once you have them built in China and order them by the container.

Re: Apparently I'm spoiled...
i had one of those mackie active speakers lying before as a monitor last saturday, those are horrible idd, awful harsch treble, after one song i asked the p.a. guy to turn it off. the front p.a. wasn't that hot either, it was a hk actor set, 4 x 15 inch subs 2 x 12 inch + tweeter tops and it was jus...

Re: Whats need need for S.A.C. setup
you need a fast pci soundcard with adat ins and outs, like this thing for instance : http://www.rme-audio.de/en_products_hdspe_raydat.php
and then a bunch of micpreamps with adat out, like behringer 8000's, enough of those around.

Re: i need advice. valve power, what speakers
are you sure T48's will go low enough for dubstep and d&b ? looks like it is -10db at 40hz and only start to get efficient around 60hz.
anybody has a comparison plot on a T48 vs THT btw ?

Re: DCX 2496 Problems
tried it, got nauseous  it's too much on bassguitar, don't need that much output so low, i much prefer the roloff of my regular bassreflex basscabs for that. for amplifying kick drum it's amazing, i put an audix D6 in the hole on the front skin, TH going from 40 to 80hz, and the rest to som...

Re: DCX 2496 Problems
It had to be something like this :) I like mine alot so far, easy to configure, the outputs are quite hot. just played around with mine a bit while playing bassguitar thru my hifi speakers and autotuba connected to check how deep it needs to go for a convincing bassguitar sound. looks like I don't n...

Re: DCX 2496 Problems
if you press the sum button, is the in select set to a + b ?
in the setup menu it's easiest to set it to LHLHLH, no need to set it to mono as you're only doing 2-way.

Re: DCX 2496 Problems
you could try reading the manual once again, looks like you missed some parts ;) it should be like this : first push the setup button, set to mono make sure your A+B input source is on analog, now those inputlights should light. then press your channel 1 button, go thru the pages and set your crosso...

Re: AT installed! about time......
it's still pretty nice for movies, certainly when your used too those tiny subs that come with cheap surround systems. blowing away a bose system isn't exactly that hard :p Yes it is. Thats what I mean if anyone hasn't built one should. Exactly what I meant on those little subs. I always put bose a...

Re: AT installed! about time......
I think it's more like the wider it's built the flatter it goes, how low it goes would still depend on horn lenght, no ? I think horn loading stops in the AT around 40 hz ? not sure cause i had mine built and don't have the plans myself, it's still pretty nice for movies, certainly when your used to...

Re: myn's Tuba HT Build Thread
it's loud yes, but are those low basses really bad for your hearing ? the thing with horns is that they sound so clear you don't really notice it's very loud, except lot's of stuff in the house starts to rattle
