Thanks again Bill. Had the wedges out for the first time Friday afternoon and the band loved them.

Re: Simplex 12 Wedge response curve
Thanks Bill. That makes sense. With the HF driver mounted on the back of the LF driver that puts the HF diaphragm a few inches (or 1/2 wavelength) behind the LF diaphragm right around 2K. Right where the response was a bit wonky. That could have also been compounded by crossover phase shift if the t...

Re: Simplex 12 Wedge response curve
Correction: I used KL3012 CX-8 drivers, not Beta 12 CX.

Simplex 12 Wedge response curve
Thought I'd share this. Built a pair of Simplex 12 wedges loaded with Eminence Beta 12 CX + ASD 1001 drivers. Ran some response curve tests and holy cow, these two cabs came out effectively identical. Pretty flat to down to about 50hz. They sound really good too. Definitely going to make good vocal ...

Re: Question about LaVoce SSF102.50L in a T24
Out of curiosity, have you tried any of these smaller gigs with just one T48? Obviously, the same pack space as two 24" T24's. Hey Seth. Fair point. I've been packing two but you're right one would probably suffice & I should try that. For some of these gigs it's just the visual impact I t...

Re: Question about LaVoce SSF102.50L in a T24
oof! well egg on my face. Thanks Bill, not sure how I missed that. The SSF is running $145 at Parts Express and the BP102 is $116. Seems like a no brainer. Looking again at the SPL chart for a dual BP102 I think a single driver SSF 102.50 in a Tuba24 should pair nicely with the Simplex Wedge 12 or a...

Question about LaVoce SSF102.50L in a T24
I have 4x T48s and 4x OT12s and while it sounds fantastic I'm running into a problem where a lot of venues my rig is physically just too big. I'm dithering on building a more compact rig. Considering to start build a pair of T24s and use my Simplex 12 wedges, which sound decent, as tops. Or maybe bu...

Alternative for BB?
Got an email from my local supplier (Phoenix AZ) about Birch "Super Core". Supposed to be much like BB, all hardwood core with same layer count, but a lot cheaper. Anyone ever use it or anything like it? https://www.woodworkerssource.com/plywood-sheet-goods/premium-white-birch/12-supercore...

Re: 4x T48 and 4x OT12 build
Got to have the kids visit for the holidays. The new PA build is "son approved"! 8) https://youtu.be/SPenApkNw-4 I also ran a couple of shows over the holiday. Smaller venue, wasn't the whole rig. Had many compliments on how good these things sound. Including some local talent that knows w...

Re: Hello from Southwest United Kingdom
When I discovered this forum I too started out wanting to build DR's. I was convinced by Bruce and others here to go with OT12's. So I just finished a build of four OT12's and loaded them with Eminence 2512's and N210T compression drivers. They sound absolutely fantastic. While I've never heard the ...

Re: Thoughts about Dayton EMM-6 mic calibration curves
Use a preset curve with a bump on the bottom, a dip in the low mids and then a gradual slope rolling off the high end. Driveracks have that curve in the system if you select it and use the RTA function on it. It's musical and makes sound check much easier. Ya I've found the driverack "reflecti...

Re: Thoughts about Dayton EMM-6 mic calibration curves
Thanks for the responses guys. I didn't really elaborate on my use case. I do some system tuning work with fixed installs (It's been church venues mostly) and have enjoyed doing it and getting better at it. At least I think I am. :) People seem to be happy with my work. I want to expand that service...

Thoughts about Dayton EMM-6 mic calibration curves
So I just received my order of 3 Dayton EMM-6 measurement mics from Parts Express. My intention is to use them in my system calibration rig so I can roll into a venue, set up 3 mics front/middle/rear with my SMAART/OSM to quickly get traces for the near, middle and far field response in the audience...
