No I haven't taken up canning. I will be suppyling sound for a local event with about 10 performers over a 5 hour span. It will be on a stage in an old converted barn. I will be using my DR 250's and my two T39's and some small monitors. I have not had the time to build some good wedges yet. This is mainly an accustic venue so we will see how it goes. I will report back with some pictures next week. This is my forth outing with my set up so it seems to get easier each time.
I am even performing a couple of my original songs there too. I hope they don't throw fruit. Phil
Apple Jam
Re: Apple Jam
Well I was surprised. I expected 12 acts with single gutars and singers. We had multiple groups guitars, acustic and electric, harmonicas, organs and a comedian. I had 4 mics sure 58#2, beta58 and a audex m5. To my surprise the beta sounded the best for most performers. The better the performer, the better the audex m5 sounded. I sure could haved used a sure 57 for the guitars that we not electic. but I left it at home. (old senile) I used a little chorus and reverb for the amatures just to warm up therie sounds but kept it clean for the better performers.
I split the DR 250,s off to each side and had them 5 foot off the ground. I put the T39,s in the courner and loaded it. The whole setting was in the loft of a 100 year old barn. Ther were 150 people 1/3 enjoying a lot of wine and beer., no one offered me any! The settings were flat. I decresed the eq at 90-150 to brighten the sound just a little. And the sound was the best that they had ever had according to the founder of the event. Even the professional from Tennissee was impressed with my funny looking tops.
I promissed pictures but forgot my camera. (old senile) The old rodies were very glad to see the speakers were light to move up the stairs. Another good day for the BF bleavers. Phil
