So after another year of wear and tear on my cabs, its time for maintenance again. I have a few chips on the corners and it needs to be sanded, bondo'ed and repainted. I do not want to rebuild the boxes but I do want to make em look nice again. And since we are repainting the bar, I want to paint them a new color as well.
So my question is, when using bondo and paint, will the fumes effect the woofers at all? I know it is better safe than sorry and to remove the subs but, I will be touching them up slowly over an extended period of time due to it being used daily and I am time challenged.
Help me out here guys
Oh by the way, these are not the BFM cabs I built last year. These are 4 scoops that I have had since the 90s.

Re: Maintenance time
Other than the possibility of spilling "bondo or paint" on the drivers, there is no harm. Out-gassing from silicon has been reported to cause adhesives used in driver construction to become un-bonded, but others dispute this claim. I, myself, will do the little extra work to remove the drivers while refinishing, to prevent any accidental damage. Better safe than sorry, especially when you need the drivers. Time challenged also means that you have no time to hunt down a replacement driver if you do have an accident!

Re: Maintenance time
I learned the hard way, when removing exposed drivers, put a pillow over the cone.
I had just re-domed a JBL E155 with a brand new chrome dome..
Installed the driver...
Reached for the ratchet and dropped it right on the dome.
Shit
