Helpful hints on how to build 'em, and where to get the stuff you need.

BP102 mounting holes.

#1 Post by vlad335 »

I am currently building a Omni12 with two BP102's for bass guitar. Bought the wood this morning and proceeded to cut the panels and the angles this afternoon. Everything was going real fast and smooth until I realised something... I don't have the BP102 drivers yet so I can't do the mounting holes. Personally I like to lay the driver on the baffle spacer to mark the mounting holes, drill them out and install the hurricane nuts, then test fit the driver before the baffle even goes into the cab. (I did something really stupid before on one of my T-48's and don't ever want to go through that again. :wall: )

Question: Is there a way to pull this off without using the actual driver that will live in the cabinet? I do have some Beta 10's here and was wondering if the hole spacing was the same? Is there anyway I can find this out?

This sucks! I have 3 days off and I am sure this cab would be ready to go except for mounting and wiring the components. I am getting the kit from Lehland but it certainly wont be here this weekend. Any ideas on how to get around this?
Currently running:
Four Titan 48's, Six Omnitop 12's, Two Wedgehorn 10's, Omni12 2-10

Also Built: Omni15 Tallboy, Omni10.5.

Duh. It just dawned on me that i can leave the bottom off and install it last.

Does anyone know about the beta10/bP102 mounting holes though?

THanks Bill!
Ok, heres the info from Eminence...

Beta10a
Mounting Holes Diameter 0.23”, 5.7mm
Mounting Holes B.C.D. 9.6”, 243.8mm

BP102
Mounting Holes Diameter .25'', 6.35mm
Mounting Holes B.C. D. 9.66'', 245.36mm

Look pretty close to me but what the hell do I know.

I have the whole day off and it looks like my BP102's will not be here till tommorrow and I am absolutely stuck to do anymore to this cab till I get the driver fitted to the baffle. Can I mount the beta10's then swap in the BP102's? The mounting holes for the Bp102 are larger which has to be a plus in this situation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
