Hi all,
Finally got the time to report on my first outing with my set

. All went well. Very well. We got the opportunity to do a second set at another loactaion the same evening...
Here's some pics of the first gig. Sorry for the bad quality

. I didn't make any of the second gig.
I made one with flash, but all the ' atmosphere' is gone...
It was quite ' arty-ish', being a Squatters place and all

.
Sound was gggooooooodddd!!!

. I got some help schlepping the PA in place. They all were very amazed about the light weight of the DR's, especially AFTER hearing them

. The only compliments I got were about the clearness of the sound

. O yeah, and too much sub bass

. Sometimes it seemed as if the concrete floor was actually laid down on a wooden one, but it turned out to be my shoes vibrating strangely to the music

. Later on, when I pushed the master slide a bit up, the 4 DR's were a bit too much for the T48's, but I think that would be solved if the T48's could be placed properly (i.e. corner loaded).
It was quite a large hall. We had only one(!) 16A fuse for all the stuff (that includes the lighting AND the laptops AND off course my soundsystem). Although we have 230V over here in Europe (

luckily), the fridge and the freezer being on the same fuse was too much for the poor thing... When I switched one amp on it blew... We got another group (without the fridge and freezer) and it al held out the rest of the evening. (The party was at a large
squatters place, so I doubt power was installed by professionals

). There was another stage in that hall they use for 'standard' shows. It's accompanied by 4 18" RCF Event series subs and some tops I couldn't find any info on. The 2 T48's I had with me easily held up with those 4 18's

. They asked me how many KW's my systems was. The looks on their faces when I told them what they were hearing was only 600W of sub bass and about 600W on tops... priceless

.
By 23.30 the 3 artists had completed their set (electronic dance/relax music) and we packed up and hurried to the second location at which we arrived at 0.30

. Packing up and loading took only about 20 mins

.
The second set we played at an old school that was going to be torn down the next day. We set up in a rather large classroom. I decided to halve the number of speakers, so only 2 DR's and 1 T48, corner loaded. Man, it ROCKED!!!

. Even better then the first place. All the guys (including me) were grinning from ear to ear when we fired up in this 'smallish' room. The bass was solid as a rock and the quality of the set easily uncovered the badly encoded songs on the attached iPod... The bass coming from that one 15" speaker

.
One thing I have to say about Bill's designs: they are deceivingly loud. The sound stays so unbelievably clean, even when you push the speakers to their limit... And still you can talk to eachother and actually 'LISTEN' to the music, instead of being blown away by a 'wall of sound'. The sound remains very open, so to say. Very high quality. I haven't heard anything like it, even on those big concerts with big brand name arrays and lots of double 18's. Maybe because they are louder(?, doubt that) or have a different balance in their mix, but I really liked my/Bills boxes

. Best 2*$15 I ever spent (for the plans)... +plus I got a good sub 40Hz massage that evening

.
