I organized a Woodstock Revue show for our company picnic last weekend with 7 acts all sharing the same backline using my Omni 10. Before we played, the other bass players kept asking "are you sure a 2x10 is enough? Can't we add an extension cab?" Once the gig got going there were no more complaints. I aimed the Omni 10 across the stage from one side and the wide dispersion, along with strong, clean mids meant everyone could hear the bass guitar clearly. The guitarist for the final act (Jimi Hendrix songs, of course) used a Mesa 6x12 as his stage monitor and I measured stage volume over 110dB, but the Omni 10 kept cutting through.
This really is a versatile bass cabinet. The lows are strong enough to carry lower volume gigs with no support and it makes a great stage montor for higher volume gigs with PA support.
Omni 10 as Bass Stage Monitor
Re: Omni 10 as Bass Stage Monitor
Couldn't agree more.
I've used my O10.5 the same way for gigs with PA support.
I can hear just fine without even cranking it up much at all. (Which is good, 'cause my upright feeds back like a biotch when I have the O10.5 pointed at it even from 20+ feet away.
