Ever Need to install a Hurricane or t-nut but you couldn't reach the back side? Here is a tool I thought of that should help. Please excuse the crude drawing.

I'm a little confused with the process here

If you can't reach the back of the wood, how do you get the tee/H nut into the back without having to make a hole the size of the nut flange ( the largest bit ) :?:

This was designed for a situation where you just can't reach the back of the hole. Example Stan Graves wanted to put strap handles on the back panel of his T-39's. His arm isn't long or flexible enough to reach the back of the panel where the H-nut will go. With this tool you just drill the hole, drop the screw thru the hole, retrieve the screw in the mouth to the cab, screw on the h-nut, pull the fishing line until the screw protrudes thru the hole, install the washer and nut, tighten to set the h-nut, and remove the tool. You could also use this to replace a driver mounting H-nut.

Very similar to wiring a hollow body guitar. String or fishing line is fed through the control holes and tied to the pot, then the whole deal is pulled back through, the nut and washer slide over the string and thread onto the pot. I hadn't thought of using it for Stan's application, but it'd work. Good idea!

One note for Stan: Your handle will be slightly off-center due to the brace, but the cabinet should carry ok. I'd do a balance test before hand to make sure.
