I have had several of them (8024 & 8000). Not anything like as good as the new version (DEQ2496), but you can get them used for next to nothing now.
The last one I had I got for my monitors (it was the older 8000) I ended up using it as nothing more than an RTA as it was a little noisy if used as an inline eq.
The newer version DEQ2496 allow you to see the RTA display with the eq running at the same time, howevor the older 8024/8000 turns off the EQ as soon as you go into RTA mode, which is a real pain as you cant 'see' what adjustments the eq have made.....
If you need a cheap RTA then it is ok, but its not anything like as good as the DEQ2496 in function or usability
