Resistor and Tweeter Switch

#1 Post by David Carter »

When including a switch for tweeters, does it matter whether the resistor comes before or after the switch? Thanks.
Dave

Built:

- 2 x DR250 (DL II 2510 + melded array)
- 2 x Titan 39 (BP102 - 14"W)
- 2 x Titan 39 (3012LF - 20"W)
- 4 x DR200 (Delta Pro 8B + melded array)

No, as long as it is in line with the switch and tweeters, it doesn't matter which comes first. In line meaning the resistor is not parallel to switch nor tweeters.

You can post a drawing of how you intend to hook things up.

It doesn't matter if it's just an on/off switch. If the switch is intended as "all on/some on", then it has to go before in order to be in the circuit all the time.
