In another thread I was asked about my 'Stand Trick' adaptor for tilting speaker cabs on top of tripod stands.
I offered to post a fabrication drawing and thought it deserves a new topic.

What is the purpose of the interior mechanism? Does it engage the top hat to keep the box from spinning? Is it a limiter to keep the box from sliding too far down? Is it a secret spy device that allows you to hear all the music that's played through the cabinet?

Yep. It would also take out any movement if the tops hat is slightly oversized.

Exactly. As David wrote, basically it takes out any clearance between the adaptor's pole and the speaker's top hat.

The unwanted spinning of the cab is more likely to happen the steeper the tilt is and the more the top hat is placed
off the Center of Gravity line of the cab.

Also it locks the cab (even in vertical position) against the 'usual forces' like wind and the occasional wise guy
who thinks the cab should be pointing differently from where you set it

I use a similar mechanism to keep my speakers pointed the way I left them.
