Pneumatic brad gun and 1/8"

#1 Post by Tim A »

After messing around with the regulator on my compressor, I was able to set the 1/8" horn sheaths on the DR200's with the brad gun. The trick is to get them to set flush so the head doesn't go too deep. I ended up at around 50 PSI.

It took a lot of brads, but still a lot faster than running in screws. No way it'd work on the butt cheeks.

I found staples work OK there. On the curved back even staples don't work, the pressure of the bending pops them right through the wood.

I figured that's be the case on the cheeks.

Are you able to get the staples to counter sink enough for bondo?

I only use staples on the throat horn where there is no bondo and on the 1/4" horn sheaths where they mate to the throat horn supports, again no bondo required.
