Hole pattern for a 15"
Well, I want to start my T48s...but I don't have the speakers yet. Any kind souls out there know the hole pattern dimensions for a 3015LF? I'm assuming 14" diameter and 8 holes around evenly spaced a half inch farther out. Talking for the spacer. If I have that info I can start building now.

According to my builder almost all drivers have a standard bolt pattern with the exception of Precision Devices and a couple of other companies that use octagonal frames.
So it should follow that any standard 15" driver will have the same bolt pattern.
Having said that, I always make sure I position the driver on the piece to be cut and mark out exactly where the holes should be just incase something has gone slightly wrong during manufacture

If that's an example of his level of expertise I'd be looking for a new builder.Strapping Young Stu wrote:According to my builder almost all drivers have a standard bolt pattern with the exception of Precision Devices and a couple of other companies that use octagonal frames.

Do all the eminece pressed steel framed woofers not use exactly the same frame then with the precise same bolt holes? Same for the cast frames?
If the distances were not standard sizes how would you ever be able to substitute different drivers in the same box?
Btw not meaning to sound rude but hes built cabs using every driver under the sun and had no problems with his methods so even if they arent as I describe he seems to think that certainly in my case the woofer I am using has a standard bolt pattern that he has seen in many other 12" woofers he has seen in the past.

My experiences has led me to agree with Bill.
Bolt pattern are not universal, neither are the cone diameters or the surrounds.
I bought an MCM rubber surround repair kit for an 8" woofer and it did not fit a Vifa woofer or any other 8's I had.
It was for a 4 hole mount and some 8's have 6 mounting holes.
BTW Stu - I listened to your music links and thoroughly enjoyed the quality and diversity.

Fair enough sydney, I will check with him before I post on this topic again.
Haha thanks my head cant cope with mainstream its just too tedious.
In fact its getting to the stage where I either play a million and one notes or very few indeed and I am leaning towards less and less these days, usually strategically placed to throw everyone off. So hooray for syncopation
I am doing a whole lot of arranging at the moment, something that I really enjoy, long hours with sibelius arranging songs from musicals for a revue with a musical company but in November when thats done I have promised myself I will finish Scheisse Elektronisches so around christmas check back and I should have done something more with it.

Well I have no "classical" music training., but I have been privileged enough to work with very skilled musicians and composers and have "absorbed".
I think I can appreciate just about any genre - IF played w skill and virtuosity. From the Glass's arpeggios to Brave Combo, blues to Brecht.
FZ's Jazz from Hell remains one of my favorite pieces of electronica.
I must warn you, I'm going to suggest to a band I know they do a medley of "The Jean Genie" segued into the Standells "Dirty Water" - they have 2 harp players that could have fun with this.
Do you do Blue Jean?
( My favorite Bowie since I saw Jazzin' for Blue Jean the 21-minute short film featuring Bowie and directed by Julien Temple. )

Haha that was my inspiration for S.E. Jazz from hell is one of my favourite electronic albums, very dated but still rather excellent in small doses.Sydney wrote: FZ's Jazz from Hell remains one of my favorite pieces of electronica.

Yeah we do most bowie tunes only ones that have electronic drums in or require a click track like little wonder we dont attempt, we do pretty much everything else.
My favourite track is still Bring me the Disco King off his latest album. Simplicity at its finest - Piano (slightly over compressed oops!), Drums, Vocals

Stu, My eminence 12" Neo drivers had a slightly different bolt centre spacing than the B&C Neo driver that I tried out in my first DR290...
I only found this out when I tried fitting the correct Eminence driver into my DR290 and found it wont fit......
I had to buy a flexible shaft drill to re-drill the mounting holes...any body who has built a DR will understand how re-drilling the mounting holes inside that tiny chamber was no small achievement....
I will never build a cab without the drivers again......

OUCH! And that was before you were even a true believer in the cabs! I wonder how close those poor cabs came to being firewood....
