So I was at home depot this weekend and stumbled across a cheapo no-name twin 1-gal compressor WITH an 18 gauge nailer and hose for a grand total of $69.
No brainer since I'd been looking for a physically small compressor for my apartment dwelling self. Grabbed an air-tool accessory kit and some teflon tape, and went home to play.
It puts 1" brads fully into doubled baltic birch without any problems, and the compressor goes up to 100psi.
A steal for $69, says I. Can't wait to give it a workout on my next speaker project...

That's what I figured, I'll use the nailer/stapler (it's a combo) until it dies, then replace it with a decent one.
I went to HD that day planning to spend up to $100 on a small compressor, and came out well under budget with a nail gun to boot.
That's a pretty good deal. You may find that you can use it to spray Duratex with some recovery time. If you use the Harbor Freight gun you'd want to install a shutoff valve on the end of the hose or right on the gun to save air, they're constant bleed.

Did you get the shut off valve at Harbor Freight? Part # please
And
Will my compressor - Porter Cable 6 gal, 150psi max , 3.5scfm @ 90psi, 4.9 scfm @ 40 psi work with Harbor Freight texture gun and Duratex?

I didn't get one, my compressor has enough capacity. Any ball valve that's the correct IPS will work.
Your compressor will work, but the valve will probably be required due to the 6 gal capacity.
Thanks for that speedy reply - I was hoping to give my wife a specific part# - If Harbor Freight had it as she drives by it frequently. Meanwhile I'll still browse HF web and others site to see if they have one.
I tend to order online because I'm over 50 miles from major civilization.
Thinking about getting a swivel coupling and extra hose.

If you can guarantee the time of death....fine. But I bet you a pound of butter for a knob of goat shit that it will die half way through a very strategic nailing operation.

If you have an "Applied Industrial Technologies" near you, get this Part # VNH3.PM ⅜ Its for a Dynaquip 3/8" full passage ball valve. I use them for everything from pneumatics to process water, and they are as good as can be got. Its about 5 or 6 dollars thanks to the cost of brass now.
There is no technical problem however complex, that cannot be solved or finessed by a direct application of brute strength and ignorance.
"Gimme the hammer... Naaaw not that one, the freakin' big one- I'll MAKE it fit!"

Oh I believe it.
Then I run to my corner Rockler (literally a block away from my house) and pickup a porter cable.
