I have just come by an small EV speaker but its white! Has anyone used Duratex to cover boxes that are made of for lack of a better word, Plastic? Would you sand and prime to prep or any other suggestions.

I'd do a test on something small first. I'd certainly prime it first and scuffing would be a good idea. May be hard to get it to stick though.

Have you considered doing a wrap instead? A friend of mine has been wrapping guitars and basses successfully. That might be a better alternative than Duratex.

The box is very contoured and irregular so not sure how wrapping would work. Any of the rattle can plastic paint things that might work?

A weird trick I've had good luck with when painting plastics is to first "paint" the entire surface with purple PVC/CPVC primer, then spray paint over that. I did it on some outdoor lighting fixtures and they've held up over several years.
