Making 9 micro-oversized GW-4028s fit into my TLAH rectangular cabinet.

I'm building a TLAH rectangle cabinet version. I am using 9 recommended Goldwood GW-4028 for the midbass. The plan-specified gap between them of 4-3/8" is too small for my midbasses. Laid out as closely as possible (i.e. touching) the 9 of them measure 3/8" longer than the plans which also encroaches on the bottom of the cabinet if I am correct (the 42" front pieces are unfortunately already cut for me, but fortunately no speakers holes have been cut). That makes each speaker 1/24" too wide on average which adds up to said 3/8". Is grinding a bit off the speak frame where they touch a possibility? I could tweak the holes a skosh wider apart and downgrade to an 8-midbass cabinet. Recommendations? FYI, if it matters, I am rear-mounting them.

Trimming the frames is fine so long as it doesn't impact the gaskets.

Yup, knocking 0.025" off of each of the butting sides with a bench or angle grinder would be a cinch of a solution.

It is odd, though, as the spec lists the driver diameter as 4 3/8".

The frames are probably punched out on a die. I could easily see the die wearing a little making the final flange flare out slightly over spec, or something else similar. It might be nice if some breathing room was incorporated into the plans.
